A quick dash home...

Hello 2011...  Hello Brisbane!

How did you bring in a new decade? We missed the fightworks and instead drove by the light of the moon with the stars as our fireworks.

With heavy hearts we packed up the car and headed back late yesterday afternoon.  The Bruce Highway is almost cut and the Fitzroy River is set to reach 9m in the next few days and the highway closed for about 10 days from when the river peaks.

I will be back later to do a round up post of 2010 and what I have in store for 2011.  It may even include a new blog - I still need a bit more of a holiday and as the saying goes " A change is as good as a Holiday" Then there is no better excuse.

I will leave you with a few pictures of what we came through yesterday.

Glad you got home safely. My parents live in Dalby... and it's been a mess there. They are fine and their house is fine.... they are out helping those who aren't so fortunate. Now they've almost run out of town supply water because the treatment plant has been unusable and flooded itself.
